How it’s
delivered.
The pack comes from the ledger Finstem already keeps current in Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent. There is no separate spreadsheet to fill in and no second set of figures.
- Monthly, once the bank is reconciled
- The same four pages every time
- A short call to walk through it
Monthly
Once the bank feed is reconciled and the ledgers agree, the pack goes out. The same point each month.
From the bookkeeping already done
The figures come from the ledger Finstem already keeps, so the year-end accounts start from the same numbers.

Questions about management accounts.
Get in touchQ1Do I have to produce management accounts?
No. There is no legal requirement. They exist because they are useful: they show whether the company is making money now, not eleven months after the year end.
Q2How are they different from year-end accounts?
Year-end accounts are statutory, filed at Companies House and prepared to a reporting standard. Management accounts are internal, faster and produced while the information can still change a decision.
Q3How current do my books need to be?
Current enough that the numbers still reflect the business. For a monthly pack that means the bookkeeping done within a couple of weeks of the month end. Finstem keeps the books as part of the engagement, so this is not left to the director.
Q4Will my bank want them?
Often, for lending, an overdraft renewal or asset finance. A pack that already exists is quicker than producing one on request, and the lender sees the same figures the director does.
